Where do we even begin with Laurie Jarvis? A long-time ECE at Hanover Heights, Laurie brings energy, humour, and creativity to everything she does. Known for her hilarious storytelling and her signature “you won’t believe this” expression as she steps into the staff room, Laurie keeps us all laughing with tales from her classroom. A proud mom of three terrific kids—two sons and a daughter—Laurie balances her type A perfectionism with a sharp wit and a warm heart. Her artistic flair shines through in her beautifully scrapbooked cards and her meticulously measured, straight, and colour-coordinated bulletin boards—yes, she even colours the staples to match! Laurie expects the best from her students, especially when it comes to following behaviour rules, and she always finds fun and engaging ways to help them learn. She organizes the much-loved Kindergarten triathlon and is constantly on the lookout for new and special experiences for her students. Whether she’s teasing a colleague, laughing about the beloved Sesame Street Yip Yip Yip puppets, or telling jokes at a staff social or during professional training, Laurie is always all-in. Outside of school, Laurie enjoys participating in triathlons herself and proudly supports her husband in his competitions too. Her dedication, humour, and heart make her an absolute gem—and we are so lucky to have her as a colleague and ECE at Hanover Heights.
