Teacher Suzanne Stassen

Suzanne Stassen

Suzanne Stassen, affectionately known as “Madame,” is the beloved French teacher and prep coverage educator at Hanover Heights. Her passion for the French language is contagious, as she continuously shares her enthusiasm with students and
staff alike. Always striving for personal growth, Suzanne actively seeks out courses to deepen her own understanding and discover new, engaging ways to inspire her students. She brings French culture to life through fun, immersive activities such as the annual "Bonhomme Carnaval," which she plans and organizes for the entire school—always with a radiant smile and boundless energy. Another favourite is “Manie Musicale,” where students vote on their favourite French songs and artists, creating a buzz of excitement throughout the classroom. Suzanne’s classroom is a warm, welcoming space complete with a café-style setup, interactive games, and most importantly, her kind, patient presence. She recognizes when students need extra care and always offers a listening ear and a comforting space to talk. Beyond the classroom, she arranges enriching visits from the JDSS French teacher to further spark interest in the language and culture. Suzanne lives on a farm and is a devoted mother to three wonderful children. She has a deep passion for mental health and is always willing to support others without expecting anything in return. Known for her generosity, empathy, and unwavering support of her colleagues, Suzanne is a true gem. We are incredibly fortunate to have her as a cherished member of the Hanover Heights team.
